Ok, so I have this idea for a proton mortor deployable, it functions similarly to a grenade turret, but it can be picked back up, and can't rotate, it can only rotate along the Y axis to calibrate angles, it would work well as an engineer/navy deployable meant for an open area, and could potentially be done with different shell types, it could launch proton bombs or maybe a gas shell. The turret is an up front stationary offensive utility, the morder would provide a more supportive style which would suite the FOBs able to be made by engineers and also the support play style of Combat engineers/Battalion engineers and Navy and provide a nice contrast to the turret.

EDIT: Perhaps it could be limited so each person can only have one mortar spawned and they have multiple mortars with different ammo types


EDIT 2 : This is a biproduct of no sleep Valenhale so that's cool, and I got it cuz I was rewatching season 5 of FMA brotherhood and noticed they were using a mortar then I'm just like hey that'd be cool on PR

Well I mean that would be easy (I think) just make a version with a shitload of extra damage so it kills all droids, it's essentially the primary ammo with extra damage

Maybe the variants of the mortar could be:
HE - High Explosive
EMP - Electromagnetic Pulse, can temporary or permanently disable droid npcs or vehicles like AATs.
Smoke - Would fire smoke grenades/rounds at the target.
Concussion - The rounds would act like concussion grenades. Would only work on human or player targets?

+1 although it shouldn’t be for engineer it should be for demo.

I kinda think it should be given to both demo and engis, since it functions as a support emplacement which is a very engineer thing, and also explosives, a very demo thing y'know?

I've been trying to hunt down a good mortar addon for a while now; I'd love to be able to add this, but don't hold your breath because you'd die to death.

Well I do have an idea for a base line of how it could work, A. make a model for the republic mortar B. Apply it to a copy of the normal turret C. Disable rotation Along the X axis D. Try and code a Arcing mechanic for it's ammo and E. Make ammo
I think that would be the simplest way

That's still a lot of work. I can probably make a model by taking a regular mortar model and retexturing it, but the other things will still take a while.

Yeah I know but it will probably be shorter and easier than from scratch

Welp I guess until this is made I gotta get Rafi to make a mortar dupe and we use it on the field, probably just a simple explosive barrel Launcher :p

Sure, I would just have to make sure it's an explosive or thruster/slider pad launcher, since we don't have wiremod I can't use forcers but def if you run a ragdoll command on me and put Me in.
