Just a Rank Suggestion

I know you probably don't take these suggestions too seriously as I am a new player and still only a PTC but i have played two events so far and from what i have seen I think there needs to be more promotions after events. There seems to be many lower ranks and not enough high ranks. And after a almost full server event only 4 people get promoted and one was only to PTC from recruit?! That seems like not enough in my opinion. But yeah thats all i have to say for now. Thanks.

The promotions are at the discretion of the Field Marshal, other battalion officers, and the gamemasters. It’s their decision whether to recommend troopers for promotion. If you stand out during an event, you will more than likely get promoted unless you’ve been promoted recently which will probably result in a commendation. Anything beyond the rank of Specialist (SPC) is typically handled by the recommended’s own battalion officers

In PR, you don't get promoted just for taking part in an event, you have to do something worthy of special recognition. And as Valiant said, SPC or above are done by the specific battalion officers, not during general debrief.

Promotions are one of the main things I notice that are different about PR from other servers. Mainly due to the fact it's a struggle to be promoted. This is not a bad thing, the ranks carry more weight on here. I can actually agree with an LCPL/CPL leading a squad of troopers on here, but I couldn't say the same if I was on Icefuse/Superior.

Basically, just put in the time and effort and you'll be rewarded. Don't just *expect* promotions to be handed to you for walking around and left-clicking occasionally.

^ what are these guys said. Pr is special in the way that a LCPL/CPL actual means something and means you are somewhat TRUSTED. Being a SGT is even more so. Meow.

And Just to reply to everyone else on here who replied to my thread, I don't expect a promotion ever, i'm just saying that when there's a huge event happening and only two people get promoted after seeing tons of people under the specialist rank, knowing definitely more than two of them did good, is a bit unmotivating, especially as a CT where you are looked down upon half of the time.

I get what you're getting at, but Gamemasters(the ones who run debrief) can't keep track of everyone who did good in an event, they rely on players recommending others for their actions.

First off, welcome to the server! I hope your first event was fun. We here at PR hold our ranks very near and dear, and most of us have been on servers where it takes a week to become Supreme Marshal General of the Fleet and find it irritating. Ngl the first time I joined the server i felt a similar way but as you start to get to know people and start to view people as the lads, you'll have more fun than focusing on the rank grind I promise. Also, if someone was fr looking down on you or other CT's please let staff know because that's not correct behavior and needs to be fixed

Ranks don't mean anything if you promote people for just doing their job (at least imo). Naval tend to be promoted slowly because it's harder to prove yourself without major specialty, leadership and dedication lead to rank progression.

Welcome to the server brother! Always nice to see new faces . But with what everyone said, promotions here are what they are. Every rank has a purpose. Like LCPL/CPL was hey work hard to get the rank of SGT. Because SGT rank here is a big improvement, as for this is than rank where you can earn the title of Commander but not the rank of Commander. I’m a Master Sergeant in the 501st and I am the Commander but I do not hold the rank of a Commander. Here rank is earned. Not given out like candy to little kids on Halloween.

but anyways brother, I hope you enjoy this server. I hope you find it’s content amazing as most of us has already. Thank you for being apart of this community.
