Hi. I play as a character 'Sopeq', and most of you probably know that I use mortars every time I play on events.
Let's get straight to the point; it needs adjustments.

Here's the list of current issues:

Speed of mortar rounds are too slow.
Speed of rotating the emplacement is too slow.
You can hardly tell which direction you're shooting, unless you test-fire.
Mortar emplacements are able to be placed from afar using the SWEP.
Mortar emplacements also don't stay stationary, meaning that it can be tossed around.

The speed of mortar rounds are a main cause of friendly fire accidents - some players push to the spot where droids used to be, and are killed on the spot as the mortar round lands after ~4 seconds since it was shot. I think they need to be way, way faster.

I really like the ranging feature, but sometimes I find it frustrating that you have to do the ranging on your own by constantly firing mortar rounds. I don't think anyone would want to volunteer to play as a Specialist just to tell the mortarman ranging. I propose that NCOs and COs have an ability to place down a waypoint for Fire Support with a ranging in meters, and please make it work with the mortar's ranging. See the image below.

You also can't really tell which direction you're shooting, sort of. You want to shoot at the squad of droids 200 meters, you aim at them but the mortar rounds drop way off to the right, so you have to keep adjusting it. I think the mortar should have an arrow of some-sort, but it's a mild inconvenience really.

I gotta agree on the ranging, as nice of an idea as it is, most specialists would much rather be shooting the weakspots on droids rather than ranging for a mortar. However, I don't believe that having the fire support feature for NCOs and COs would be very useful since I believe that most of them are too busy leading or just shooting rather than putting down markers fore the few mortars we have. Instead, I think that either giving the mortar man a rangefinder or having a red circle where the mortar would land around (Like with the previous mortar) would be nice. I think that this would also help to solve the issue with aiming since the rangefinder does give the angle of rotation as well.

Riddick has stated that mortar is meant to be a "team" weapon, which I agree with. He also demonstrated to me how the specialist's rangefinder will boost the firing speed of mortars, although it doesn't buff speed of mortar rounds, which is a shame.

I still think that mortar needs to turn faster, have it's mortar rounds be faster too.

I think it'd also be neat if the bearing of mortars matched with the HUD's bearing.
